Bling really makes me sing ...

The glittering shops in Hong Kong with every possible type of bling available- for phone covers, bags, clips, purses, ipad covers..you name it and they have it.The glitter can actually kill a person by the combined strength of the cloured rays!

I always used to wonder who are the target buyers for these really, really BLINGY articles which seem to be shouting boldly -LOOK AT ME.Why would someone actually buy these in-your-face things...and guess what? I was in for a surprise, a very big surprise. In my own workplace, which is a bank (and as the stereotypes go, should be non-blingy), I found atleast 10 of my colleagues (in client-facing and employee-facing jobs) showing a penchant for all things BLING!..and the blingy articles like the phone covers etc did'nt look bad at all, in fact they seemed to look quite good and suited them.I asked my colleagues why are they attracted to the glitter and they said -JUST LIKE THAT!

Now, when I see these shops, I don't discount them, I actually look at the varied designs, marvelling all the while that there's always someone who likes them passionately enough to buy them...

is it that, what is bizarre for one, is perfectly normal for the other ?
